Standing with Colombia After the August 10 Earthquake

Our hearts are with Colombia and all those affected by the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia on the morning of August 10, 2026. The powerful earthquake left widespread damage and disruption, affecting the lives of thousands of families across the region.

Centered in the department of Chocó, the earthquake caused widespread destruction across western and central Colombia, severely affecting hundreds of communities in and around San José del Palmar as well as major cities including Cali, Pereira, Manizales, and Quibdó, with shaking felt as far away as Bogotá and neighboring countries.

For many Colombians, the impact goes far beyond the numbers. Families have lost loved ones, homes have been damaged or destroyed, and entire communities are now facing the difficult process of recovering and rebuilding. The effects of a disaster of this magnitude will continue long after the immediate emergency has passed.

As a company deeply connected to the built environment and with strong roots in Colombia, this tragedy is deeply personal to us. Buildings are more than structures.
